Alan Hutton has admitted that he was thrilled to have made his "second debut" for Aston Villa this weekend.
The Scotland international had been frozen out of the first-team picture for the last two years, but he was brought back into the fold by manager Paul Lambert for yesterday's 1-0 away victory against Stoke City.
"It is unbelievable to come away from the Britannia Stadium with a win, being as hard a place as it is to get three points," Sky Sports News quotes Hutton as saying. "And with it also being a second debut for myself, it was brilliant."
Asked how he found being away from the team for a prolonged spell, the 29-year-old added: "Obviously it is difficult, but you just work hard and try your best, and when you get given a chance you have to take it."
Villa return to action next weekend with a home match against Newcastle United.
