Former Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel believes that Brad Guzan can become one of the best in the Premier League.

Brad Friedel believes that Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan can become one of the best in the Premier League.

The American signed a new contract at Villa Park that will keep him at the club till the summer of 2017.

"Brad can be as good as anyone in the Premier League," Friedel told the Express & Star.

"He has a phenomenal work ethic, he's a big, strong boy and he is six-foot-two-inches tall.

"And let's not forget he had the season he did after Shay Given, who has been one of the best Premier League keepers, was dislodged by Brad."

Guzan joined Villa in 2008 from MLS side Chivas USA.
