Dunne suffers broken collar bone

Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne will be out for eight weeks with a broken collar bone.

The Republic of Ireland centre-back suffered the injury during his side's 1-0 loss to Manchester City yesterday evening.

He will now undergo an operation to correct the problem at a hospital in Birmingham later today.

Should his rehabilitation go smoothly, Villa expect the defender to return by the end of April.
