Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi is scheduled to undergo scans on the knee injury that he sustained while playing for France Under-21s on Thursday night.
Midway through the second half, the 21-year-old suffered what appeared to be a serious injury during his team's 1-0 win against Northern Ireland Under-21s in Guingamp.
Images soon began to circulate of the incident, which showed Amavi clutching his right knee, but according to PA, France's medical team do not expect the injury to be as bad as first feared.
Amavi has made 12 appearances since joining Villa from Nice during the summer.
