The hosts thought they'd taken the lead early on, only to see Andrea Raggi's shot cannon back off the right post following Dimitar Berbatov's cross.

Bordeaux grabbed the game's opening goal with their first real opportunity, as Guillaume Hoarau headed into the net from Younes Kaabouni's ball into the box.

Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco almost brought Monaco back into the game with a standout strike from distance, but Cedric Carrasso was equal to it as he got across to save at his bottom corner.

Monaco did manage to get back on level terms, but it was only after 69 minutes, as Lucas Ocampos headed in from six yards having been picked out by Ferreira-Carrasco, leaving the final score to end 1-1.
