Schalke target Lukas Podolski

Schalke 04 will reportedly make an offer to sign Germany international Lukas Podolski in the summer.

The 26-year-old's current deal with Koln is due to expire next summer and talks have yet to begin regarding fresh terms.

As a result, Podolski has been linked with numerous clubs, including Lazio and Arsenal.

However, they may now face competition from Schalke, who are willing to meet the striker's wage demands, according to reports in Germany.

Podolski recently revealed that he will make a decision on his future after Euro 2012.
