Report: In-demand Leon Goretzka decides on Bayern Munich move

Leon Goretzka, who was reportedly at the centre of a transfer war between a number of heavyweight sides, is said to have chosen Bayern Munich as his next destination.

Schalke 04 midfielder Leon Goretzka has rejected Premier League interest to remain in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, according to a report.

The Germany international is one of the most in-demand players on the market after refusing to sign a new deal at the Veltins-Arena last summer.

Goretzka's camp has flirted with potential moves to Liverpool and Arsenal, while Barcelona are also understood to have held serious interest, but Spanish outlet Marca claims that Bayern have won the race.

Bayern are rumoured to have already secured the 22-year-old's signature, with formal confirmation to follow of a switch that will go through on June 30 when he becomes a free agent.

Capped 12 times at senior international level by Germany, scoring six goals in that time, Goretzka is expected to delay his medical as he is currently nursing an injury problem.
