Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on the progress of Valencia starlet Javi Guerra, who has a significant release clause in his contract.

Arsenal are reportedly tasked their scouting department with keeping a close eye on Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra.

The Gunners made three permanent additions during the recent summer transfer window, recruiting David Raya, Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino.

They also signed goalkeeper Neto and winger Raheem Sterling on loan deals from Bournemouth and Chelsea respectively.

After bolstering their squad in the summer, Arsenal's recruitment team are now scouring the market for potential targets for future transfer windows.

Arsenal monitoring Guerra

According to Football Insider, Arsenal scouts are currently keeping tabs on the progress of Valencia academy product Guerra.

However, the report claims that it may be difficult for Arsenal to strike a deal to sign Guerra in the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old is set to have a significant £100m release clause in his contract which is set to run until the summer of 2027.

Arsenal are allegedly keen to sign a new midfielder on a long-term contract due to the uncertainty surrounding Jorginho and Thomas Partey's futures.

Jorginho and Partey are both out of the contract next summer, and Arsenal are seemingly drawing up plans to replace at least one of the midfield duo.

Who is Arsenal's transfer target?

Guerra is still a Valencia player despite being heavily linked with a move to Atletico Madrid in the recent summer transfer window.

The midfielder has made 55 first-team appearances since emerging from Valencia's academy, scoring five goals and providing one assist.

Guerra has been featured in each of Valencia's first four matches, starting the first two before appearing as a substitute against Athletic Bilbao and Villarreal.

The youngster has also featured in nine matches for the Spain Under-21s side, including appearances in recent Euro Under-21 qualifying games against Scotland and Hungary.
