MLS club offer trial to former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong

MLS club Sporting Kansas City have offered a trial to former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong.

Frimpong has struggled with injuries and for form since leaving the Emirates Stadium but he has been given the chance to impress in the United States.

Manager Peter Vermes told reporters: "We are trying to look at where he is now. I don't care what the past was; it's where he is now.

"We're taking a look at him, just taking a look at him. Everything is always a trial. Everything is always a trial, always,"

Frimpong made just 22 league starts in English football for the likes of Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Barnsley before leaving for Russian side FC Ufa in 2014.
