Juventus eye Aubameyang as Ronaldo replacement?

Juventus have identified Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a potential replacement for Manchester City-bound Cristiano Ronaldo, according to a report.

Ronaldo is edging closer to a move back to the Premier League, with only a fee needing to be agreed between Juventus and Man City before the transfer becomes official.

His exit from Turin will free up a significant part of Juve's wage budget, and they will aim to find a replacement before the end of the transfer window.

TuttoMercatoWeb reports that their first choice would be Aubameyang, who has been linked with a move away from Arsenal throughout the summer.

Asked if he thought the Gabon international would leave the Emirates before the transfer deadline next week, Mikel Arteta said: "I don't know. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is our player and he will remain here.

"I don't know (if any player will leave). We haven't had a situation but probably that question is more for (technical director) Edu and the board."

Aubameyang scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday, having made his first appearance of the season as a substitute against Chelsea last weekend.
