Juventus confirm failed approach for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez

Juventus have been told by Arsenal that they have "no intention" of selling Alexis Sanchez, according to the Italian giant's CEO Giuseppe Marotta.

Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that the club's initial approach for Alexis Sanchez was knocked back by Arsenal.

The Gunners also warned Juve that they have "no intention of selling" their prized asset, who was thought to be the subject of a £26m bid earlier this summer.

Speaking to Chilean publication El Mercurio, Marotta admitted that the Italian giants may now have to look elsewhere after failing with their first offer.

"Sanchez is a great player, but Arsenal told us they have no intention of selling," he said. "Arsenal said that the Chilean attacker is non-transferable and that he is not on the market."

Sanchez scored 13 goals for Arsenal in the Premier League last season and set up a further four for his teammates.
