Juanfran: 'I turned down Arsenal'

Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran has revealed that he turned down the chance to sign for Arsenal this summer.

The 27-year-old, who joined the Spanish capital outfit from Osasuna in 2011, is widely regarded as one of the best right-backs in European football.

"It is true that I had an offer from Arsenal that any player would have liked to have accepted," he told Marca.

"But I am very happy here. For me, as everyone knows, there is no better club than Atletico."

Juanfran has four years remaining on his current deal.
