Barcelona rival Arsenal for Etienne Capoue

Barcelona have reportedly emerged as rivals to Arsenal for Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue.

It is believed that the Gunners are interested in the 23-year-old, who has made 12 appearances for the France Under-21s.

Arsene Wenger is said to have targeted Capoue after being put off a move for Rennes star Yann M'Vila.

However, reports in Spain have suggested that Barca are ready to swoop for the £9.5m-rated man, who is seen as a direct replacement for Seydou Keita.

Capoue came through the youth ranks at Le Tef, making his debut in 2007.
