Arsenal 'to make £31m Diego Costa bid'

Arsenal will make a £31m move for Diego Costa this summer, according to reports.

Arsenal will reportedly launch an audacious raid for Atletico Madrid's in-demand striker Diego Costa this summer.

According to the The Mirror, the Brazilian-born Spanish international has a £31m release clause in his contract, but that fee shouldn't prove to be a stumbling block for the Gunners, who were heavily linked with a £40m-plus move for Luis Suarez last summer.

However, Arsenal will face stern competition from Chelsea for the Atletico striker's signature, with the Blues believed to be favourites to the land the player at the end of the season.

Wenger is reported to be in the market for a forward to either replace Frenchman Olivier Giroud or play alongside him.
