Arsenal will reportedly only target one or two loan signings this month after the club spent £130m on permanent transfers during the summer window.

Arsenal will reportedly focus on loan signings this January following the club's £130m investment in the squad last summer.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for a centre-back this month after Calum Chambers picked up a season-ending injury against Chelsea, and Jerome Boateng of Bayern Munich has been linked.

According to Goal, the club's summer spending means new head coach Mikel Arteta will have to focus on loan signing this month unless an opportunity too good to turn down emerges.

The report adds that the club will look to bring in one or two loan players this month, before focusing on potential permanent signings for the summer.

Arsenal have been linked with Boateng this month as well as Juventus' Merih Demiral and RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano.

Arteta's side face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday as they look to build on two consecutive wins at the Emirates Stadium.
