Arsenal reportedly reject an offer from Galatasaray for Mohamed Elneny, who is due to become a free agent at the end of the current season.

Arsenal have reportedly knocked back an offer from Galatasaray for out-of-favour midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

The Egypt international failed to secure a move away from the Emirates before the English transfer window closed, but clubs in Turkey can still sign players until Wednesday.

A proposed move to Fenerbahce supposedly fell through due to Elneny's wage demands, but fellow Super Lig giants Galatasaray are also understood to be in contact with Arsenal over a move.

However, football.london claims that the Gunners rejected a bid from Galatasaray for Elneny, but the midfielder will still be allowed to leave should a suitable offer come in for his services.

Elneny did not appear to have a future at Arsenal at one stage but made 41 appearances under Mikel Arteta in all competitions last term, and he has now entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates.

The 29-year-old recently picked up an injury while on international duty, though, with the Gunners possibly now two men short in midfield for Saturday's clash with Norwich City amid Granit Xhaka's suspension.
