Arsene Wenger reveals that Arsenal were "never" in the running to sign Manchester United target Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club were "never" interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

The England international, who has been linked to a host of Premier League clubs following an impressive couple of seasons at Selhurst Park, was thought to be on Wenger's January transfer wishlist.

Despite these reports, Wenger said today in a press conference: "We were never in for him, never."

Wenger's response sparks suggestions that league leaders Manchester United are close to wrapping up a deal for the 20-year-old, who is expected to finish the season on loan at Palace.
