Team News: Andy Carroll named on West Ham United bench

Andy Carroll is named on the West Ham United bench to face Arsenal.

Andy Carroll has been named on the West Ham United bench to face Arsenal at the London Stadium this evening.

The striker has only made one Premier League appearance for the Hammers this season after suffering a knee injury in mid-August, but is passed fit enough to feature in the matchday squad today.

In all, Slaven Bilic makes four changes from the side that were held to a draw with Manchester United in the league last weekend.

Ashley Fletcher comes in for Diafra Sakho, who has been ruled out until next year with a thigh injury, and will partner Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini up front.

Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell both suffered groin injuries in the midweek EFL Cup defeat to United and miss out on the matchday squad, with Edimilson Fernandes recalled to the midfield and Arthur Masuaku coming in at left-back as Bilic reverts to a 4-3-3.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger makes two changes to the Gunners side that beat Bournemouth in the league last time out.

Gabriel Paulista comes back into the side as replacement for Mathieu Debuchy, who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, while at defensive mid, Francis Coquelin comes in to partner Granit Xhaka, with Mohamed Elneny starting on the bench after suffering with an illness this week.

Alexis Sanchez continues to lead the line for the visitors, with support from Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Elsewhere, midfielder Aaron Ramsey is named among the substitutes but there is no place in the matchday squad for Olivier Giroud, who has suffered a groin injury.

West Ham United: Randolph; Reid, Collins, Ogbonna, Masuaku; Obiang, Noble, Fernandes; Fletcher, Lanzini, Payet
Subs: Adrian, Nordtveit, Arbeloa, Feghouli, Carroll, Zaza, Ayew

Arsenal: Cech; Gabriel, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Coquelin, Xhaka; Walcott, Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Sanchez
