How Arsenal could line up against Leeds United

How Arsenal could line up against Leeds

Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from successive league defeats when they welcome Leeds United to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners have seen their mini-resurgence halted in its tracks by consecutive losses, leaving them in the bottom half of the table and both a point and a place behind Sunday's visitors.

Arsenal have been in good form at home since the turn of the year, though, and will hope to return to winning ways in their first home league meeting with Leeds since 2004.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Mikel Arteta could line his side up for the contest.

Out: Thomas Partey (hamstring), Kieran Tierney (knee) Doubtful: None > Click here for Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of this match Arsenal will be boosted by the returns of Bernd Leno and David Luiz for this match, with both players back from suspension after missing the defeat to Aston Villa last time out. However, Arteta will be without Thomas Partey, who sustained a hamstring injury in that loss and now faces a race against time to be fit for the Manchester City showdown next weekend. This match will also come too soon for Kieran Tierney, who continues to struggle with a knee injury and will also need to be assessed ahead of a difficult upcoming run of games. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now back available after a leave of absence due to personal reasons, and the club captain is expected to return to the starting lineup for this one having had to settle for an appearance off the bench last time out. Dani Ceballos is the most likely candidate to replace Thomas in the middle of the park, while Gabriel Magalhaes could make way for the returning Luiz. Martin Odegaard and Willian are among the other players who will be knocking on the door to start, but they face a difficult task in usurping talented youngsters Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka in the pecking order. The latter in particular has been impressive so far this season, creating more chances and winning more fouls than any other Arsenal player, while Alexandre Lacazette is the only player to have been directly involved in more goals in 2019-20.
