How Arsenal could line up against Barcelona

Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko remains an injury doubt ahead of Wednesday's pre-season friendly against Barcelona at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

The Ukraine international is yet to represent the Gunners in pre-season due to a calf problem and he most recently missed the 2-0 friendly loss to Manchester United last Saturday.

Reiss Nelson could keep Zinchenko company in the treatment room as he continues to recover from a toe injury, but Mikel Arteta has been boosted by the return to fitness of Leandro Trossard, Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe who all featured as substitutes against the Red Devils.

Arteta decided to select new recruits Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber in the same starting lineup for the first time last weekend following their big-money moves earlier this summer, and all three players are expected to play again in some capacity on Thursday.

Indeed, both Rice and Havertz may keep their places in the middle of the pitch alongside captain Martin Odegaard, while Timber is set to battle with Ben White for a spot at right-back.

First-choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale should retain the gloves ahead of Alex Runarsson, while Kieran Tierney, Jakub Kiwior and Rob Holding will be hoping to force their way into the back four.

Eddie Nketiah started ahead of Gabriel Jesus last time out, but the Brazilian No.9 may claim his spot as the central striker on Thursday, either side of star wingers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Odegaard, Rice, Havertz; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli
