How Arsenal could line up against Tottenham

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is sweating over the fitness of attacker Gabriel Martinelli ahead of Sunday's Premier League North London derby with Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates.

The Brazilian missed Wednesday's 4-0 Champions League win over PSV Eindhoven owing to the hamstring injury he picked up against Everton, but Arteta did not rule out his return for the derby when questioned earlier this week.

However, the Gunners boss will definitely be without long-term knee victims Mohamed Elneny and Jurrien Timber - the former of whom is in the final stages of his recovery - while Thomas Partey is sidelined with his groin concern.

For the second game in a row, David Raya was given the nod over Aaron Ramsdale against PSV and made it two clean sheets from two starts in goal, although he was not significantly tested against the Dutch side or Everton.

Nevertheless, Arteta will likely see no need to make an alteration in between the sticks, and the same can be said for the recognisable rearguard of Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard are guaranteed starters in the middle as ever, but Fabio Vieira is threatening to immediately displace Kai Havertz, who was given the nod against PSV but once again failed to make as much of an impact as his teammates.

However, all of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard made the net ripple in the first half, while the former and latter also claimed assists, and the trio should all continue in an untouched attacking lineup with Martinelli uncertain.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Vieira; Saka, Jesus, Trossard
