Jack Wilshere out of action until April with ankle injury

Arsenal confirm that midfielder Jack Wilshere will be out of action for three weeks with an ankle injury.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will be on the sidelines for three weeks due to an ankle injury.

Reports had emerged claiming that the 21-year-old would be absent from the Gunners' crucial second leg against Bayern Munich, who lead 3-1 in the round-of-16 Champions League tie.

While this has been confirmed to be the case, England manager Roy Hodgson will also be unable to call on the midfielder for the Three Lions' World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro later this month.

Wilshere could also miss vital Premier League clashes against Everton, Swansea City and Reading as the North London outfit try to clinch a place in the top four.
