Jack Wilshere: 'Chelsea still in title race'

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere suggests that London rivals Chelsea can still win the Premier League title, despite their slow start to the season.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has suggested that London rivals Chelsea can still win the Premier League title, despite their slow start to the season.

The Gunners are currently 11 points clear of the reigning champions, who sit 15th in the table having won just three of their opening 10 fixtures, but the 23-year-old believes that Jose Mourinho's side have enough quality to improve.

Speaking to Goals on Sunday, Wilshere said: "Of course, going into the game yesterday we'd knew they'd lost the game and we're obviously delighted with them losing games like that because they're a big team and for me they're still not out of it.

"I know they're struggling at the moment and they are a long way off but they still have great players, still have great qualities.

"They have players from last season who won the league, they definitely won't be happy with what is going on at the moment so it will be difficult for them but they have great quality."

Chelsea will take on Liverpool in their next league fixture on Saturday.
