Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: 'Team is not affected by negativity'

Arsene Wenger insists that his Arsenal team are "not affected by negativity" after they threw away a three-goal lead to draw with Anderlecht in the Champions League.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that his team are "very positive" despite the "shock" of throwing away a three-goal lead against Anderlecht in the Champions League in midweek.

The North London outfit were forced to settle for a 3-3 draw at the Emirates on Tuesday night following a second-half comeback from the Belgian side.

"It was a shock, but overall we know we can score goals and do better defensively," Wenger told reporters. "We can learn a lot from what happened. Subconsciously we thought the game was over and it rarely is.

"We are very positive inside the camp. We are not affected by negativity. We are not happy when we don't win but that's it."

Arsenal were heavily criticised by TV pundits, including former player Paul Merson, who described the team as "tactically clueless", but Wenger has no issues with their views.

"That's the job of people who work on TV or in newspapers," Wenger added. "They're just doing their job."

On Sunday, Arsenal will face Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
