Arsene Wenger admits that the current season has been among the strangest that he has ever experienced.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that this season has been among the strangest that he has ever experienced.

The Gunners, who lost four of their first seven league games of the season, now lead the race for the remaining Champions League places with the likes of Newcastle United – three seasons removed from relegation – close behind.

"It has been the strangest [season] yet," said the Frenchman.

"There were changes all over throughout the season. It looked first of all like we were battling relegation and then at the last game of the season we are battling for a Champions League position."

Meanwhile, Arsenal travel to West Bromwich Albion for the final game of the season.
