Arsene Wenger: 'December is an important month'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits that December is an important month for the club, on both the Premier League and transfer front.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that he has already been contacted by agents and representatives of players who are looking for a transfer in January.

Wenger has seen several first-team players suffer injuries in recent weeks, leaving the Gunners boss to admit that he will look to strengthen his squad next month.

However, while Wenger has hinted that the club are already looking at players, he has insisted that results on the pitch take priority throughout December.

The Frenchman told reporters: "December is a very important moment for us.

"My phone is busy every day from people who propose players but we have a team inside our club who select what is coming in. The most important thing is to win football games."

Arsenal will hope to maintain their position in the top four of the Premier League table when they host Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
