Danny Welbeck expects goals to come

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck believes that he will score goals more often in the future after netting just four Premier League goals since his move to the club.

Danny Welbeck has said that he expects to score more often for Arsenal in the future after netting just four times in the Premier League this season.

The striker moved to the Gunners from Manchester United on transfer deadline day last summer, and has regularly featured for Arsene Wenger's side, but he has often had to play out wide rather than up front.

The England international told the Daily Mail: "I think I've put in a few good performances. I've been unlucky on the club front with goals and that's something I know will come in abundance when I get to know everything spot on with the club and I'm pretty sure that will happen.

"It's no secret I prefer to play down the middle. But the formation we play at Arsenal, you're playing on the left or the right. We're always interchanging, playing in a three-man attack. It's much easier doing that than playing left midfield or left wing in a four-man midfield.

"You are always looking at ways to improve as a player, to develop and I feel like I am developing well as a player."

Arsenal face Reading in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley tomorrow.
