Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has revealed that he plays every match as if it is his last as a professional footballer.
The 28-year-old is currently the Premier League's leading goalscorer, having found the net on 27 occasions this season.
Speaking after he received the PFA Player of the Year award last night, the Dutch international revealed what has been behind his positive form in front of goal.
"I think it is just looking at it from the basics and play every single game like it is your last," he told Press Association Sport.
"Enjoy it and do what you always do and then the goals might come. Sometimes they don't but at least you're playing football the way people want to see it."
Van Persie joined the Gunners from Feyenoord in 2004.
