Alexis Sanchez: 'I don't regret leaving Barcelona for Arsenal'

Alexis Sanchez insists that he does not "regret" leaving Barcelona for Arsenal as he prepares to face his former club in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has admitted that he does not "regret" leaving Barcelona ahead of Tuesday's showdown against his former club.

The Chile international joined Arsenal from the Catalan giants for a reported £35m fee in the summer of 2014.

Despite Barcelona being the overwhelming favourites to reach the Champions League quarter-finals at the expense of Arsenal, Sanchez believes that he left Camp Nou at the right time.

"I never regret my decisions," The Mirror quotes Sanchez as saying. "It wasn't easy to leave Barcelona. I fulfilled a dream when I moved there - to play in Spain and for the champions - but very few players stay in the same club all their life. To leave is normal.

"I wanted a new project, a new experience, and with so many attacking players at Barca it was a good choice to go. The directors told me clubs were interested. So I think it was a good choice to go to Arsenal, the best choice. It has been a positive move and I love it at Arsenal."

Sanchez, who spent three years at Barcelona, has scored 35 goals for the Gunners since moving to the Emirates.
