Aaron Ramsey wants to improve

Aaron Ramsey says that he wants to improve at Arsenal after signing a new deal with the club.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has revealed that he is keen to improve his current form in the coming months.

The former Wales captain has endured a tough spell at the club since suffering a double fracture in his lower right leg against Stoke City in February 2010, and has drawn criticism from some sections of the Gunners faithful.

However, the 21-year-old signed a new deal with the club on Wednesday and is keen to become a better player.

"At the beginning, I was really excited to have an opportunity to have a full season and to be involved in everything," Ramsey told the club's official website. "I played 44 times and that was quite a shock to the system at the time, having been out for so long.

"I haven't had a full season before in my professional career so it was a shock and definitely took its toll towards the end. Hopefully this one will be different and the form towards the end of the season will be better. I'll be more used to dealing with that.

"Next year I want to progress as a player and turn into the player that I know I am capable of turning into. I know I still have a few things to learn. [My aim is] hopefully to show what I'm capable of doing on a more regular basis, and to get more goals as well."

Ramsey was one of five players to sign new contracts at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
