Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale claims that he "could not be prouder" of England teammates Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka after the 10-0 thumping of San Marino.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has hailed the England performances of Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka as evidence of "strides" in the Gunners team.

Smith Rowe enjoyed a dream debut for the Three Lions with a goal in the 10-0 thumping of San Marino, with Saka rounding off the goalscoring in that World Cup 2022 qualifier.

Ramsdale kept a clean sheet on his debut in between the sticks, and barring one save from Nicola Nanni's effort, the 23-year-old's first appearance was a quiet affair.

Ramsdale lavished praise on his Arsenal colleagues after the game, telling reporters: "I'm delighted for those two. It's a really nice evening for us three lads and the football club on the whole.

"As a football club we're making strides and we've delivered on the international stage tonight. I couldn't be prouder of the two boys."

The England trio will be back in action for Mikel Arteta's side in Saturday's Premier League clash with Liverpool following the international break.
