Lukas Podolski has declared that he is raring to go and expects success in his debut Premier League season.

New Arsenal signing Podolski is focused on making an immediate impact in England and can't wait to get started.

"I am looking at a different championship in England right now and I hope we will be able to fight to be part of the top group," Podolski said.

"We want to have a successful season and I am looking forward to this task. The club and the fans have been fantastic for the last couple of weeks and I am hungry to get started on the 21st of July."

Podolski remains on an extended break following his run to the Euro 2012 semi-finals with Germany.

The 27-year-old will join his new Gunners teammates for a pre-season tour of Asia on Saturday.
