Lukas Podolski: "Every game is important"

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski says that every match left to play this season is important to the club.

Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has said that every match left to play this season is important to the club.

The German scored twice for the Gunners as they boosted their hopes of securing a place in next season's Champions League with a 3-0 victory over Hull City this afternoon.

As well as focusing on the league they will face The Tigers in the FA Cup final next month at Wembley, but Podolski has made it clear that they are only thinking about their next fixture.

"It's important to get fourth place, but it's important to go match to match," he told Sky Sports.

"We now look forward to our next game against Newcastle because every game is important.

"It's important for us to come here and get the win, to keep our position in the league. We have beaten Hull twice but are not going to take them lightly."

Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier League table and lead fifth-placed Everton by one point.
