Petr Cech: 'Arsenal still far from best despite back-to-back wins'

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech admits that his side "are not 100% yet" after being made to work hard for victory at home to Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

Petr Cech has suggested that Arsenal are playing like potential champions by picking up victories when they are far from their fluent best.

The Gunners earned a 2-1 victory over Southampton on Saturday afternoon, secured by a late Santi Cazorla penalty to make it two wins on the bounce in the Premier League.

Cech admits that there is still plenty of room for improvement as far as Arsenal's title challenge goes, but believes that his side were good value for their latest win despite being pushed right to the last seconds at the Emirates Stadium.

"I think we are not 100% yet," he told Arsenal's official website. "Our game is not as fluent as it could be and it should be. But I think we are getting the results that we need and this is the most important sometimes when you are playing and you know not everything is happening the way you want, that you find a way to win games.

"Obviously we did so, so we are happy with the three points and we go game by game and try to improve every day. I think our reaction [to going behind against Southampton] was very good.

"We got a goal back in the first half, we tried to push for the winning goal. It came in the last minute but I think we were aggressive and we were searching for it so in the end we probably deserved a little bit of luck back."

Arsenal find themselves in sixth place in the league table, five points off early pacesetters Manchester City after four games.
