Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone has admitted that he wants to be more involved in the first team following his two recent appearances for the club.

The Italian has kept clean sheets against Stoke City and Liverpool after replacing the injured Wojciech Szczesny.

"I just roll up my sleeves and try to work because I know I can do well," he told the Gunners' official website.

"When you are number one, you feel important and like the happiest man in the world, that sort of feeling gives me the chance to go onto the pitch with confidence.

"I would like to be involved more and more and establish myself."

Szczesny is expected to return for Arsenal when they face Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on September 15.
