Football Association charges Emmanuel Frimpong with improper conduct

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has been handed a charge of improper conduct by the Football Association.

The charge relates to comments that the 20-year-old recently posted on social networking site Twitter.

A statement from the FA read: "The allegation is that Frimpong posted comments amounting to improper conduct and/or which brought the game into disrepute, which included a reference to ethnic origin, faith or race."

Frimpong has until 4pm on Friday to respond to the charge.
