Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wants starting role at Arsenal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sets his sights firmly on earning a first-team place at Arsenal this season.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has insisted that his primary aim for this season is to nail down a first-team place at Arsenal.

The 18-year-old returns from England duty at Euro 2012 with the ambition of making his mark for the Gunners.

Chamberlain told the club's official website: "I know it won't be easy. The new signings are really good so if I do manage to get into the team, I need to try and stay in there.

"I need to score more goals and get more assists, that wins games and people take notice of that. I will always put my own style on things, which is taking people on and try and be an exciting player to watch."

Chamberlain is currently on Arsenal's pre-season tour of Asia, which includes a glamour friendly against Manchester City in Beijing on Friday.
