Santi Cazorla has said that Manuel Pellegrini will do "spectacular things" if he becomes the new Manchester City manager.
Pellegrini, 59, is the hot favourite to take over at City after Roberto Mancini was sacked last week.
Cazorla has worked under Pellegrini for much of his career, first at Villarreal and then at Malaga, and the Arsenal playmaker is full of praise for his former boss.
"With Manchester City, if he goes there, he'll do spectacular things and they will get better as a team," the Spaniard told The People.
"He'll adapt to the Premier League. He'll change City's style but the players he has got, they'll adapt very well. I hope the best for him.
"If he goes to City, he deserves that and I'll be happy for him. He's ready as he likes pressure. He's ready for any team."
Chilean Pellegrini still manages Malaga but is expected to leave his position if offered the City post.
