Arsenal confirm that they will face the Nigeria national team in a friendly in August.

Arsenal will face Nigeria in a pre-season friendly in Abuja on August 5.

The Gunners will visit the West African nation, who are ranked 60th in the FIFA world rankings, following their tours of China and Malaysia in July.

Promoter of DanJan Sports David Omigie has hinted that both teams are likely to field strong lineups in the match.

"The NFF have agreed that the country will present a strong side as coach Stephen Keshi continues his development process," said Omigie.

"The Arsenal manager [Arsene Wenger] will also use this game to showcase his full squad for the 2012-2013 football season."

An Arsenal club statement read: "The club last visited Africa during a tour to South Africa in July 1993.

"It is returning as a result of the fantastic support which exists for the team, not only in Nigeria, but across the entire continent."

Nigeria's most capped player is Everton's wantaway defender Joseph Yobo, who has made 87 senior international appearances.
