Lukas Podolski to sign for Arsenal in £10.9m deal

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Cologne to sign highly-rated striker Lukas Podolski.

The German international will join the Gunners next season in a deal worth £10.9m, according to the Daily Mail.

Podolski has agreed personal terms with the Premier League side and will put pen to paper on a four-year deal worth more than £100,000 a week.

The 26-year-old will team up with compatriot Per Mertesacker at Arsenal.

"He has been very interested in the past few weeks, and has sent me a number of text messages," Mertesacker told Sky.

"I've told him that this is a great place to work and that Arsenal are an amazing club."

Podolski is due at the Emirates Stadium once the current Bundesliga season ends.
