Sam Allardyce: 'I would improve Arsenal defence'

Former England and Everton boss Sam Allardyce insists that he would only need a day to improve Arsenal's backline.

Sam Allardyce has insisted that he would only require one day to improve Arsenal's struggling backline.

After losing 3-0 to Manchester City in the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon, Arsenal remain in ninth position in the standings with 27 goals being conceded from 17 matches.

While there has been no sign of the Gunners making a final decision on the long-term successor to Unai Emery, Allardyce feels that he would be able to lead the club to better results in the short term.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the former England and Everton boss said: "Arsenal have lost their way at the moment. They need to bond and connect as a squad; somebody needs to get in the dressing room.

"I could come and work on Arsenal's defence and make them better tomorrow, not a problem whatsoever. I've done it everywhere I've been – Newcastle, Blackburn, Bolton, West Ham Crystal Palace, Everton, I've done it all there."

Allardyce has been out of the dugout since being removed from his position at Everton in May 2018.
