Arsene Wenger expects Aaron Ramsey to return for Swansea City clash

Wenger expects Ramsey to return for Swansea clash

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey is still nursing a hamstring injury sustained against Hull City earlier this week, but he expects the midfielder to return for the visit of Swansea City.

The Welshman was said to be a major doubt ahead of next Monday's Premier League clash, although he is likely to return to training in the coming days.

"From the Hull match we had Ramsey who took a big kick, he is getting slowly better. He could be back in training soon," Sky Sports News quotes the 65-year-old as saying.

There is some bad news for Arsenal supporters, however, as Danny Welbeck has still not shaken off an injury problem of his own.

The former Manchester United forward missed the 3-1 victory over Hull at the KC Stadium because of the issue with his knee, and he has yet to return to training.

"Welbeck is doing better, but he is still not in training, he has missed now more than a week," Wenger added. "There is no major damage, but we have to see how it progresses over the next two or three days."

Arsenal are currently third in the Premier League table, sitting level on points with Manchester City directly above them, with a game in hand still to play on their rivals.
