Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck ruled out for further two weeks

Arsene Wenger confirms that Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck will miss a further two weeks due to a thigh injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that striker Danny Welbeck will remain on the sidelines for a further two weeks with a thigh injury.

The 24-year-old has not featured for the Gunners since his side's 2-1 victory over West Ham United on December 28.

In this morning's press conference, Wenger told reporters that he expects Welbeck, who moved to the Emirates from Manchester United in the summer for a £16m fee, to miss the next fortnight.

The injury blow comes after Mikel Arteta was ruled out for three months with an ankle injury and Mathieu Debuchy was rumoured to have also been given a three-month layoff with a dislocated shoulder.
