Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck injury doubt for FA Cup final against Aston Villa

Arsene Wenger hints that Danny Welbeck could miss Arsenal's FA Cup final against Aston Villa due to injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that Danny Welbeck is in danger of missing the FA Cup final due to injury.

The former Manchester United forward has been struggling with a knee problem since April and played no part in Wednesday's goalless draw with Sunderland.

In this morning's press conference, Wenger confirmed that Welbeck will not be included in the matchday squad for Sunday's final game of the season at home to West Bromwich Albion.

The Frenchman also poured doubt over Welbeck's availability for the FA Cup final against Aston Villa at Wembley on May 30, which means that the striker's place in the England squad for next month's games against the Republic of Ireland and Slovenia could be in danger.

"If he is not available for the FA Cup final then I can't see him being available for England," Wenger told reporters.

The Gunners are third in the Premier League table.
