Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger hails club football over international duty

Wenger: Champions League better than World Cup

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that club football is “better” than international football as his team prepares to face Olympiakos in the Champions League tonight.

The 61-year-old thinks that club football is stronger due to the array of players that come from all over the world.

"I always said that club football is better than national team football, by far," Wenger told the club’s official website.

"You have the best players from any country in the national team. In any big club you have the best players of all the countries in the world. It’s as simple as that.”

The Gunners take on Olympiakos at the Emirates for the Group F clash.
