Arsene Wenger earmarks AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a potential match winner ahead of Arsenal's Champions League tie against the Italian giants.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has earmarked AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a potential dangerman when the two sides meet in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Ibrahimovic, 30, has been in prolific form in front of goal recently, with 21 goals in 26 games so far this season.

While this record doesn't quite reach the levels of Wenger's own star striker - Robin Van Persie - the veteran manager still believes that his side will have to be very careful when they come up against the Swedish hitman.

"He is a great player," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.

"If you look at his record, at what he has won, he has his own personality based on a strong belief in himself. That is a quality at the top level that can sometimes be seen as over-confidence but I don't think he is because he turns up with performances in the big games.

"That's why I believe he was at the Arsenal training ground before his career. Before he moved to Ajax we were interested in him, and he made a great career."

Should Milan win Serie A this year it will be the ninth consecutive season that Ibrahimovic has won a league title with his club.
