Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out injured for six months?

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is reportedly facing several months on the sidelines after injuring his knee ligaments in Arsenal's defeat to Aston Villa.

Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is reportedly facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after injuring his knee ligaments this weekend.

The England international was hurt in a collision with Antonio Luna in the Gunners' 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.

He left the stadium on crutches and according to The Mirror, the 20-year-old could be facing several months out.

Tests earlier today revealed that there is damage to his knee, but further examinations on Monday are expected to determine the extent of the injury, which could keep him out until February.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the club's Champions League qualifier against Fenerbache this week.

Wenger told reporters: "He's definitely out [of the Fenerbache game]. It's a bad injury."

Arsenal are currently in the midst of an injury crisis, with Nacho Monreal, Mikel Areteta and Thomas Vermaelen already out of action.
