An Arsenal title winner's Viktor Gyokeres has been proven correct following the striker's brace in the Gunners' 4-0 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.
The Sweden international struck his first two European goals for Mikel Arteta's men in the thrashing of the Rojiblancos at the Emirates Stadium, also ending a seven-game scoring drought across all competitions in the process.
Gyokeres had gone without a single strike since the 3-0 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest in September, and the ex-Sporting Lisbon striker was told by an Arsenal expert that he needed to be on his toes more in the penalty area.
The 27-year-old's finishes were far from spectacular - one deflected close-range strike and the simplest of finishes from a yard out - but he was nevertheless named the UEFA Man of the Match and was praised for the positions he took up.
Gyokeres found the net after Gabriel Magalhaes's header opened the floodgates, and speaking exclusively to Sports Mole, 1990-91 Arsenal title winner Anders Limpar affirmed that his compatriot would have more joy in front of goal once games opened up.
Arsenal title winner's point proven over Viktor Gyokeres
"I think he is doing really well," Limpar said. "Arsenal are winning, he is doing a fine job as the number nine, and he is getting up to speed well.
“It’s always difficult coming to the Premier League with such high expectations. You look at [Thierry] Henry and [Dennis] Bergkamp for Arsenal and it took both a while to get going.
“Arsenal are sitting top of the league and with [Kai] Havertz injured, Gyokeres is playing all the time. He has scored a few goals and as games open up, I expect him to score more.
“I see what some journalists are saying, but the team is doing well and top of the league having gone to Manchester United, Liverpool & Newcastle United. I am sure he will get more goals."
Gyokeres now has a respectable total of five goals from his first 12 appearances for the Gunners across all competitions, and the Scandinavian was deservedly given a standing ovation as he departed the pitch on Tuesday evening.

Not only did Gyokeres find himself in the right place at the right time to open his Champions League account for Arsenal in midweek, the Sweden international also exhibited tremendous use of his body to win fouls for the hosts.
Gyokeres was felled four times by Diego Simeone's players over the course of the game, contributing to the 27-year-old winning four of his six ground duels in the Champions League crushing.
However, the former Coventry City man did not prove anywhere near as effective off the ground, failing to win any of his three aerial duels, although that matters little at set-pieces thanks to the presence of Gabriel.
Nevertheless, Gyokeres also put in the hard yards defensively with three clearances and two recoveries, and his teammates' celebrations for his goals on Tuesday shows just how much Arteta's men have already taken to him.
Anders Limpar was speaking to Sports Mole on behalf of William Hill.
