Bruno Martins Indi: 'Netherlands must stop Lionel Messi'

Bruno Martins Indi believes that stopping Lionel Messi will be the big test for the Netherlands when they meet Argentina on Wednesday.

Bruno Martins Indi has conceded that the key for the Netherlands in their World Cup semi-final against Argentina is to stop Lionel Messi having a big impact on the game.

Messi, who played a crucial role in the quarter-final success over Belgium, has been in impressive form throughout the tournament, and Martins Indi is in no doubt that it will be the Barcelona forward who could cause the most damage to the Dutch on Wednesday evening.

"Argentina is still a very good team, but Belgium also got some chances against them," the defender told NUSport. "I've watched that match.

"Every team has strong and weak points. We have to make sure that Messi doesn't get the ball."

Messi has scored four goals in five appearances in Brazil this summer.
