Preview: Anderlecht vs. Malaga

Anderlecht vs. Malaga

Anderlecht welcome Malaga to Brussels in their Champions League Group C clash on Wednesday with both sides enjoying impressive starts to their domestic campaigns.

Despite their solid domestic form, Anderlecht have not won a home match in the group stages of the Champions League since beating Lyon 1-0 in 2003. However, the Belgian outfit have won eight of their last 11 home clashes with Spanish sides and enter the match off the back of a 0-0 draw with AC Milan.

Malaga, meanwhile, recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Zenit St. Petersburg on matchday one and are one of the in-form sides in La Liga, sitting in third spot in the table.

The home side are expected to have Milan Jovanovic available for the encounter, but Massimo Bruno is struggling with a muscular injury. Meanwhile, Malaga will be without Julio Baptista and Jeremy Toulalan.

Recent form:

Anderlecht: DDDWW Malaga: WWWDW

Possible lineups:

Anderlecht: Buffon; Gillet, Wasilewski, Nuytinck, Deschacht; Biglia, Kouyate, Kljestan, Kanu; Mbokani, Jovanovic

Malaga: Caballero; Gamez, Demichelis, Weligton, Monreal; Portillo, Camacho, Eliseu, Joaquin, Isco, Saviola

Sports Mole says: 1-2
